Empowering Women in Panjab: Bhinder Kaur’s Story of Strength

A Life of Struggles

Empowering women in Panjab is essential, as many face hardship. Bhinder Kaur is one of them. She married young, hoping for a stable future. However, her husband’s struggle with alcohol and drug addiction shattered that dream. His earnings were wasted, leaving the family in distress.

A Brave Decision

Over time, the abuse and financial instability became unbearable. With no other option, Bhinder Kaur made the courageous decision to leave, something she never thought possible. With her young son, she returned to her parents’ home, uncertain about the future.

In 2017, SAF International stepped in to help. They sponsored her five-year-old son, Veer Devinder Singh, ensuring his education continued. Although this lifted some of her burden, she still relied on her father for basic needs. Due to her own health struggles, she could only take on light cleaning jobs.

Overcoming Loss and Hardship

In late 2022, tragedy struck again—her father passed away. Without his emotional and financial support, she faced an uncertain future. Feeling lost, she turned once again to SAF International for guidance and support.

A Path to Independence

Recognizing her struggle, SAF International provided her with the means to start a small business. This opportunity allowed Bhinder Kaur to earn a steady income, empowering her to support herself and her son. Now, she no longer relies on others.

The Impact of Empowering Women in Punjab

Bhinder Kaur’s journey reflects the power of empowering women in Panjab. Through support and compassion, SAF International continues to uplift struggling families. Inspired by the teachings of Baba Nanak Ji, they bring real change to those in need.
