Khalsa Credit Union Grant Helps SAF International Bring Sikhi Back to Families in Nepal

A New Chapter of Hope for Sikh Families in Nepal

SAF International is proud to announce a $19,100 grant from Khalsa Credit Union, empowering us to bring faith, education, and hope back to Sikh families in Dasharathpur, Nepal.

For years, this community has lived without a Gurdwara Sahib or formal Sikh education. Now, with this generous support, Sikh families will once again have access to daily Sangat, Gurmukhi learning, and Gurbani practice—reviving their spiritual roots and strengthening their connection to Sikhi.

How the Grant Will Help?

The Khalsa Credit Union grant will directly fund several life-changing initiatives in Dasharathpur and surrounding areas:

  • 🏗 Completion of the Gurdwara Sahib – providing a central, safe space for prayer, community gatherings, and kirtan.
  • 📖 Support for a Granthi Singh – guiding children and families to learn Gurmukhi, Gurbani, and Sikh principles.
  • 🌼 Opening of a Gurmat Kendar – offering daily classes, nutritious meals, and a nurturing environment for over 100 children to grow spiritually.

This initiative restores more than just infrastructure — it restores dignity, connection, and identity for Sikh families who had lost touch with their spiritual & cultural foundation.

Khalsa Spirit in Action

Khalsa Credit Union has been a long-time partner in SAF International’s mission. In 2021, their support helped us rebuild safe homes for Sikligar Sikh families in Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh — transforming their lives and restoring dignity.

Their continued partnership represents the true Khalsa spirit of Seva — a commitment to uplift communities through compassion, faith, and collective action.

Faith, Education, and Empowerment

This project symbolizes the power of unity between Khalsa institutions working toward a shared vision: ensuring that no Sikh family is left behind. Through faith-based education, community support, and sustainable development, we aim to create lasting change that goes beyond borders.

Together, we’re not only rebuilding structures — we’re rebuilding Sikhi in the hearts of future generations.
