As a dedicated and passionate group of Vancouver Sikhs with a deep connection to Sikhism, our mission is to help underprivileged communities of all faith across South Asia. With our help and the support of our donors, families can find stability and access the resources they need to succeed and prosper.
A Brief history of SAF International
Proud B.C Sikhs who believe in supporting vulnerable communities across South Asia. The directors meet several times a year and act in the best interest of our sponsors and donors to ensure that the donations we receive are used in the best way possible.
Board of Directors
Arshdeep has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). He currently works as an Electric Designer for BC Hydro, and is involved in various charitable initiatives in the local community.
Gurmeet has been working as a Mortgage Consultant in the Metro Vancouver area for the past 25 years. He is a co- founder and President of Financial Key Mortgage Corporation, and gives back to his community through his work with charitable organizations.

Born and raised in Punjab, I grew up hearing stories of great Sikh men and women that had selflessly served and sacrificed for others. These stories ignited my passion to follow the path created by my ancestors. The problems in my homeland such as drug addiction, poverty, and abuse of girls and women only strengthened my desire to make a difference. Admittedly, creating my own journey to make a difference has been an overwhelming and humbling experience. After much contemplation, with Waheguru Ji’s Kirpa, me and my friends started small programs in my family village to work with youth and inspire them to learn and grow. Manpreet Kaur is currently working as a Data Entry Clerk with SAF International. In India, She worked with Chief Khalsa Diwan IMT as a Department head for 3 years. She has extensive experience in the education sector as an Assistant Professor from Rayat Bahra University in Chandigarh. Moreover, she brings along a Master’s degree in Info Tech and during her free time she enjoys doing art and exploring new places.
Harjinder Singh’s personality and dedication towards our cause is admirable and shows the genuine and true humility of his character. He is considered Shamandeep Singh’s right hand man, and looks after SAF as a whole throughout India. Harjinder wishes to thank you all for supporting the charity as the opportunity to work here has allowed him to sit and talk with so many different communities. Jatinderpal Singh looks after SAF’s financial, HR and other general office systems to make sure everything is running smoothly in our India office. Prior to joining SAF he was running his own financial consulting firm. Working here he has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings where he feels he is empowered, can be an advocate, motivate, connect and anchorage resilience. Jatinderpal Singh loves working at SAF because he feels that everyone shares the same vision and is genuinely dedicated to the mission of helping others. Jaspreet was the first employee in our India office back when it officially opened in 2017. She wants to thank everybody that has supported SAF over the years because she has witnessed firsthand the impact that your sponsorships and donations have made on the families we serve. Jaspreet looks after the entire Child Sponsorship program in India. This includes but is not limited to; speaking with schools, comparing charges, preparing child updates, processing child gifts, and being the point of contact for our field officers. Manpreet Kaur is our receptionist in our India office, and it’s safe to say that our office would not operate smoothly without her! She is responsible for answering phone calls, data entry, filing, reports, among many other tasks. Manpreet started off working for SAF after her sister Jaspreet referred her to an available position. She has discovered how much she loves working here because of the rewarding experience of serving those in need, and feels like it has left a lasting impression on herself and her family. Manpreet Kaur enjoys spending time with her husband and children and listening to kirtan from Harmandir Sahib.
Jaswinder Singh currently manages our projects within our charity. He is responsible for looking after poverty relief projects and mainly construction development. Jaswinder works out of the office as well as on the ground, creating reports for most of our major programs in order to keep things running smoothly here at SAF. Prior to joining SAF, Jasvinder Singh worked as a Data Manager under another NGO. He has a MA in Economics and also an MA in Social Work. He was attracted to work for SAF because he feels motivated to work hard and feels good about the work that SAF does in the seva (service) of the needy and feels that it helps him feel more connected spiritually to…
Prabhjit handles two of our biggest zones in Punjab and coordinates the gift giving program, the house repairs and improvement projects, medical aid support, and he is also responsible for surveying new cases in the Majha and Malwa regions. His duties outside of a non-profit would be divided into 3-4 separate jobs, but here at the charity we’re proud to wear multiple hats, and Prabhjit is no exception. Prabhjit’s children were sponsored by SAF in 2015, and after learning about Prabhjit’s dedication towards the Panth, he was asked to join SAF in 2017. As a Field Investigator, Amar Singh’s job is an integral part of our organization. Amar Singh’s work is primarily on the ground, where he works to survey and find new cases for SAF to support. He also works on ensuring the gift giving program, house improvement projects, and medical aid support for families is operating as it should be. Prior to working here, Amar was working as a salesman. After having discovered SAF and meeting Shamandeep, Amar Singh feels like his life has a driving purpose and it has changed his perspective towards life in general. Amar Singh enjoys playing volleyball and watching football in his free time.
Moneet Kaur is our Donor Relations Coordinator. She ensures efficient communication with our team of donors to keep them informed on any concerns they may have. She writes newsletters and blog posts to inform the public of the work SAF is doing in the present as well as our goals for the future. Moneet is also a commerce student at the University of British Columbia and feels passionate to work with SAF while completing her schooling.
Gurdeep Singh recently signed on with SAF as an Education Program Specialist. He will be responsible for developing our new bursary education program, as well as our brand new gift giving program to ensure that all gifts ordered by our donors are delivered on time, data is collected and everything is operating smoothly. He felt a pull to work for SAF after having met SAF’s Founder, Shamandeep. He feels that Shamandeep has a driving force that is contagious, and that is what motivates him to work and has left a positive and lasting impression on him and his family. Gurdeep enjoys playing cricket in his spare time, and loves to watch the Indian cricket team play as well.
Prabhjot is a receptionist at our Headquarters, she is the one that is responsible for greeting everyone over the phone with her pleasant voice. She is a recent graduate of Business Management and Administration from Cambrian College. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors seeing adventurous activities that calm her mind and get her connected with nature.
